The battery pack for this radio is toast. Doesn't look like they are
available anymore.
Any after-market batteries for this radio out there?

Communication Specialist, Inc rebuilt one for me about five years ago. Cost

The radio (TR720) was made by Communication Specialist Inc. www.com-spec.com
I bought this hand-held aircraft radio around 1989...I understand that was a
while ago by electronics standards, but it's still a good little unit. CSI
doesn't appear to support it any longer, the NiCad pack has died long ago,
but there was a AA-battery pack available at one time.

There are a dozen battery rebuilding companies that will take your old
battery and put new NiMH inside, sew it up, and get it back for $20-30 or
so. I'd google on handheld battery rebuilding.

Or you can use a cutoff wheel in a dremmell tool to cut the case open (if it
has a case) and buy new cells from any source, solder it up, and use JB weld
and tape to close the case. Cost from 10 bucks and up, depending on the
cells.
